The Role

We're seeking an exceptional Senior Data Engineer who will be instrumental in building and scaling our data engineering function from the ground up. Working directly with our CTO and CEO, you'll have the autonomy to architect solutions, make critical technical decisions, and build high-performing teams as we grow.

What You'll Do

Immediate Impact (First 6 Months)

• Design and implement our core data infrastructure from first principles
• Architect and build scalable, production-grade data pipelines
• Collaborate with our AI/ML teams to productions models
• Establish best practices, coding standards, and technical processes
• Work directly with customers to understand needs and deliver solutions

Growth & Scale (6-12 Months)

• Build and lead the data engineering team as we grow
• Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions
• Oversee multiple critical data initiatives
• Partner with leadership on product strategy and technical roadmap

What We're Looking For

Deep Technical Expertise

• Deep expertise in architecting, building and deploying production-grade scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
• Experience leading data architecture design with parallel processing technologies (e.g. Apache Spark, Apache Beam, Databricks)
• Software engineering expertise
• Proficient in Python development with a focus on data processing and manipulation
• Experience with data frameworks such as Pandas or similar libraries
• Working knowledge of SQL for querying and managing relational databases

Leadership & Vision

• Strategic mindset with ability to see beyond immediate technical challenges
• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers
• Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders at all levels
• Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort with ambiguity

Other Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Full-time commitment (40 hours per week)
